Trust me, I wouldn't have had anything to do with it unless I was cursed. Magic like that is just asking for bad news.

Yeah. They're pretty normal for my world but I'm guess not for yours. Do you want me to tell you how to get here or I can come and get you?

Genies are, anyway. But sometimes magic can be really helpful. I mean, I'd have been eaten by a dragon if it wasn't for magic.

I've never seen anything like them. Um...would it be too much trouble for you to come get me? I'm so tired of walking...

If there wasn't magic, would you have been in a situation where you were going to be eaten by a dragon?

Well...it depends on how far back you go. If there wasn't magic, there wouldn't be the three magic treasures of Daventry, so they couldn't have gotten stolen, so my father couldn't have rescued them and become king. And without magic, he couldn't have met my mother, so I wouldn't have been born, and so on and so on. But magic didn't have anything to do with the dragon ravaging our kingdom, if that's what you mean.

Oh man, magic is so confusing. I'm glad there's not any of it in my world. I mean... not that I'm not glad there's magic in your world, because I'm glad you're here. I mean, not glad that you're here in the City, just glad you exist.

[OOC: Sure! I'll be here for roughly another hour, and Rosella's technically been awake for about thirty-six hours straight, so I can just have her fall asleep if a convenient ending is needed. If that's cool with you?]

*Sam is there a short time later in the Porsche. He had also been thinking enough to bring a towel, although he mostly remembered that because he didn't want to get the interior of the car wet. Saya would come back to the City to kill him just for that. But hey, there's a dripping wet girl. Hopping out of the car with the towel he smiled.*

Hey, I'm Sam. You must be Rosella?

[ooc: works for me!]

[Rosella was indeed dripping wet, and she'd been watching for a person in a strange-looking machine, so she wasn't too startled when Sam arrived and introduced himself in person. Upon seeing him smile, she returned it brightly.]

Yes, you found me. Hello, Sam, it's nice to meet you in person!

*Sam offered her the towel, it really couldn't be pleasant being that wet. He just wished he had a change of clothes he could bring her. Well, that weren't his clothes.*

I did. I had to search a lot of fountains and talk to a lot of dripping wet girls but I'm finally here.

[She took it gratefully, drying the ends of her hair before starting to work on the hems of her rather elaborate court dress. It wasn't much help, unfortunately, but it was better than nothing.]

I guess I'm lucky you're so persistent, then.

*Sam offered her a sheepish grin, taking in the state of her clothing. Yeah, she was going to need new clothes. It wouldn't be weird to offer to get her some, right?*

Hey, someone has to watch out for you, what with the evil witches and the dragons that you normally get yourself entangled with.

[Well...she was wet, but it wasn't any worse than being swallowed by a whale. At least the fountain's water had been clean--she could manage for a while. Rosella got herself as dry as she could, and then offered the towel back to Sam.]

Oh, I can take care of myself. But everybody needs help from other people sometimes.

[She smiled to herself, her thoughts drifting to the twin brother she'd been reunited with just a day or two before.]

*Sam thought anyone who met with as many strange circumstances as Rosella apparently did should probably have someone to watch their back. Metaphorically. Taking the towel he nodded to the car.*

Alright, why don't you hop in and we'll go the my place. Ummm, you sure you don't want to get some clothes or something?

[Rosella gave the car a nervous look. Machines were a fairly uncommon thing back home, and she was more than a little wary of this one. So, to momentarily stall for time, she checked over her dress once more.]

I didn't have the chance to pack anything before I came here...again...

*Sam would have been surprised if she had time to pack, or do anything in preparation, before coming here. He didn't want to talk about how long he went before he got a change of clothes.*

Well, there are some shops nearby where we can get you a few things.

[She looked a little embarrassed at this suggestion; granted, someone in the possession of a magic chest of gold that never empties doesn't usually have to admit that they're penniless, so discomfort would be understandable.]

I don't have any money, either. ...I'll be all right, Sam, really. I've managed with worse.

*Fortunately for Rosella, Sam is under aged and generous. Which sounds like a weird combination, so he doesn't mention it out loud.*

It's not a problem. I'm only 17, so I don't get charged for necessities, and I have two jobs... so money is not a problem. Come on, don't make me beg to buy you clothes, because then it will just be awkward for both of us.

[A small smile crept across her face, mostly because of his generosity, but also at the mention of his age.]

You're seventeen, too? And all right, I'll agree, but only if you let me repay your kindness somehow.

*Sam perked up a bit at the "seventeen too" comment. That meant she got free stuff too.*

If you're under 18 you'll get like... an allowance from the City too. So you can pay me back from that. Or... do you cook? Because I live in this huge warehouse thing by myself and it has a really nice kitchen and I eat like... Pop Tarts for every meal.

[An allowance? Well, that might come in handy...]

Yes, I can cook a little bit. And clean too, if your...huge warehouse thing tends to get messy. But I should warn you that I'm not very good at making tarts, if that's what you like...

*Sam smiled. This was going to be great. Just so long as he explained to his girlfriend why his new roommate was a girl.*

The place is pretty clean, other than my room. Which, uhh, isn't too messy. And I've... never had tarts, so that's fine.
