--and I'll show you around the castle, Alexander! I'm so glad...Daddy's...
...Huh? What the—oh, drat, what now? Genesta, is that you? Hello! Anyone...?
Not again...
Honestly, I’m hardly home for an hour and all of a sudden I’m getting whisked off again. It’d be nice to have a little warning for once, so I could at least pack something...
Er...hello? Well, this doesn't look like Tamir, so...whoever it is who summoned me, I’m here and listening! Hello!
...Anybody?

Action!
Mmhmm. That too.
[OOC: My previous HTML fail indicates to me that I, like Rosella, really ought to go to sleep. Can we resume tomorrow?]
Re: Action!
Maybe we should just get you to a bed then.
[ooc: Absolutely!]
Action!
Nn, I'm...mm. Fine. I'm fine. Just...long day. I need a minute, that's all...just a minute.
[Following that, she tried very hard not to yawn again, but failed.]
Re: Action!
Are you sure? I mean, you're kind of exhausted.
Action!
[Rosella remained still for a bit, clearly having just begun to doze. But after only a minute or two, she jolted awake again with a sharp gasp, her eyes flying open.]
Re: Action!
Whoa there, calm down.
Action!
Sorry. I...sorry. I think you're right about finding someplace to sleep, after all.
Re: Action!
I'll take you home. There's a couple empty rooms there and you can crash in one of them.
Action!
[Up to this point, Rosella hadn't actually looked out any of the windows; now, trying to stay awake until they reached "home"--wherever that was--she glanced out the passenger window and blinked in surprise.]
This carriage--it's much faster than horse-drawn ones, isn't it?
Re: Action!
*Just to show, Sam gooses the gas a bit, speeding up about 10 miles an hour. Still not fast though, because he's still terrified of putting so much as a scratch on the Porsche.*
Action!
How much faster? And what makes it go? It's not alive...is it?
Re: Action!
in trainingafter all.*No, it's not alive. At least I hope not, I do not need any more cars that turn out to be alive. But, it has an engine. Basically, fuel goes into the engine and there's a small explosion, which moves pistons in the engine. The pistons pushing out in turn powers and moves other parts of the car which turn the wheels and things like that.
Action!
But don't the explosions damage the carria--er, car?
Re: Action!
No. They're small and not too powerful. It's like... uhhh, do you know what a cannon is?
Action!
[OOC: Technology in Daventry is really iffy. Archery was emphasized in Rosella's upbringing, so I'm guessing cannons weren't around yet...but then again, she's read Shakespeare, and one of the stage directions in Shakespeare calls for cannon fire, so...yeah, I'm totally faking this. She's a smart girl; she'll figure it out somehow.]
Re: Action!
Action!
So the explosion happens inside, and that pushes the arm out? Then that's why the rest of it isn't hurt...right? And then pushing the arm must somehow turn the part that the wheels are connected to, since there's nothing pulling them? How confusing...
Re: Action!
You got it. I can show you when you're not so tired. Fixing cars is king of what I do. Well, what I'm learning to do.
Action!
It seems like it'd be so much easier to just enchant it. Or ride a horse. This way seems so complicated...but I think I'd like to see how it all works.
Re: Action!
We don't have magic in my world. And cars go faster and are easier to care for than horses. Not as much shoveling.
Action!
But are cars as much fun to ride as horses? Have you done both?
Re: Action!
Uhhh, they're fun to drive. And someone here offered to let me ride some horses, but she left before I was better enough to do it.
Action!
[She gazed around a little more.]
Is...this the place? You live here?
Re: Action!
*Sam nods and goes over to flick a light on, the warehouse coming. The bottom level has Sam's Vespa and motorcycle and some space for the other people's projects. The stairs leading up go to the living areas.*
It used to belong to a woman named Saya and I lived with her. But she left...
Action!
You lit the--no, wait, those can't be torches. More of your machines?
...I'm sorry about your friend.
