Quest 054
I've met Cupid before, actually.
If I didn't know better, I'd say this was his handiwork--the state of the City today, that is. He can be rather mischievous when he cares to be, after all. It's not that there's anything wrong with falling in love at first sight, of course, but...well, there can be wrong reasons behind it, I suppose. Or poor circumstances. Particularly if it's a one-sided sort of love, and the other person isn't...well, if it happens that they don't feel the same. And that's a terrible situation to be in, but it happens sometimes, and--well, it's troublesome. So I suppose it's really better to avoid that sort of thing whenever possible, isn't it?
In any case, I think I'm glad that I don't seem to be cursed today. While it might've beenwelcomed nice interesting, to say the very least, I have a feeling that all this is going to lead to a great deal of sadness tomorrow, and I believe I've had my fill of sadness already for a good long time.
And it's doubly good, since there were still some errands I'd wanted to run before tomorrow evening, and I've managed to get them all taken care of. I suppose I didn't really need a new dress very much, but...well, why not? It's been a while since I had one. I don't know if it's exactly...right for me, I suppose, but the ladies I spoke with assured me it's quite fashionable and appropriate for the occasion. And it looks nice enough, so.
Still, when tomorrow does come around, I think we'll all do well to remember that "love is not love which alters when it alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove"--and that as difficult as it may be to forgive, we really shouldn't be blamed for silly actions we take when cursed.

Some of the curses do seem to cause the most pain and embarassment in their aftermath.
[Voice]
The curses that change how someone thinks are the most awful ones. Still, I wouldn't say this is the worst curse I've ever seen, but I should think it certainly comes close.
[Voice]
Hmm... it is pretty bad - or is going to be, tomorrow. What would you say is the worst you've seen?
[Voice]
One that showed me what might have been, had I failed in something very important. And I lost a dear friend in the aftermath of it.

You met cupid?
no subject
Well, in a sense. He flew away before I had a chance to really speak with him, but he left behind his bow and arrows. And I, er, borrowed them.
no subject
Oh, wow. That's kinda cool!

They were a great help to me, too. I'd never have caught the unicorn without them.
