Quest 059
[Attempted Private//Somewhat Hackable]
Alas, there'll be no lists today;
The curse won't let me have my way
To write things that are not in rhyme.
Still, to not would just waste time,
When every day's precious indeed.
It's hard--if I could just succeed
in tracking down a wand to use
(It's not as though I would abuse
The powers it would grant to me!)
Then I could cast my spell, and see
If magic can help me combat
The evil sorcerer and cat.
But if "No" answers all my pleas,
Then my last hope's the deities.
[/Private]
This post--I'd thought I might forego it
Since I, alas, am no great poet,
And yet, I think, as curses go,
This one is rather fun. And so
despite the curse's strange effects,
I hope it won't be too complex
To write the things I want to say
And do the work set for today.
But first. I'll ask after my friends!
How are you all? And that extends
Especially to those I see
Alas! Rather infrequently.
And let me make a point to say
How lovely it was, yesterday,
To see the garden all abloom!
And now I'm pleased to say, my room
Is filled with flowers, fragrant, sweet;
My thanks, Kurama, for this treat.
To Arthur: I may have a lead
On tracking down that book you need.
I think, perhaps, at this man's store,
You may find what you're looking for.
(At least, you may have greater ease
With his shelves, than the Library's.)
But now, I'll end my turn of phrase,
And set my count at nineteen days.
[OOC: AUGH. All couplets, all the time. And kind of loving it. >>]

I had a simply lovely time,
And can't imagine gladder hours
Than those spent there, among the flowers.

But I'll make sure to go again.

Mind if I ask what you're counting down to?

To rhyming couplets; you must pick
each word with carefullest intent,
To make sure you've said what you meant.
Alas! Your question I'll evade;
You'll have to guess it, I'm afraid.

Hmm...are you counting down to your birthday?
no subject
But if you just keep after it,
I'm sure that you can find a way
To say the things you mean to say.
Your question's answered with a "yes",
But I must know--how did you guess?
no subject
So birthdays happen to be on my brain
And I don't really think that someone would
Ask people to guess unless it was good.

I find I must inquire why
You'd celebrate a raindrop's fall...
...Unless it's not that "rain" at all.

The wet stuff in the sky isn't the same.

--and not the "rain" that downward pours?
I hope she had a lovely day,
And that mine, too, will be that way.

Not half as bad as it could be.

I love these curses of wordplay.

This curse oft made me smile today.

I take it that you're not cursed, too?
