Still no luck at finding a spellbook. I did find a lot of cookbooks, though, so I think I'm getting closer. Maybe Lily was right, and I'm not meant to learn it...but I have to at least try. Alexander managed it, and I'm sure he wasn't given any sort of training in magic while he was being held captive...

Then again, even if I did find something, I'd still need a magic wand, and it's not as though I can simply walk up to someone and ask for one! Borrowing one is out of the question--the wizard would notice it was missing and find me right away. And I doubt they'd be too inclined to give it to me. I wonder what the chances are of finding one? There are a lot of shops here...maybe I can find one in some sort of knickknack shop. It wouldn't have to be too powerful. Just enough to try...

Still, that can wait for another day.

Goodness, what's the matter with everyone today? So much fighting! Honestly, I didn't realize that stopping someone to ask directions was such a problem. And really, that remark about my dress was completely uncalled for! It's a perfectly good dress!

I don't know what a "Renaissance Fair reject" is, but the way she said it, it certainly wasn't anything nice. ...Hmph.

I think I'm going to start trying to play my flute more often before I have to put it back where I found it. It's been a while since I had lessons, and I'd like to get back into practice. Music hath charms to soothe the savage breast, after all.

Not all magic requires a wand. There are different forms of magic.

(ooc; ... More like she magically remembered it being written. She's the Archive, she remembers everything that's ever been recorded in any way. Well, unhackable private entries excluded for the game's sake, and filtered entries as well, usually. Unless I have permission to the filtered entries ~)

I'm...sure there are. But most of it relies on the use of a wand, doesn't it?

A wand is one of the items used to help control magic. A practitioner of great adeptness does not need those objects. It depends most on the level of skill and the type of magic. Making a ward does not require a wand, nor does making a potion.
