--rat it all, I did it again, didn't I. Honestly, every Giving-Thanks--but really, I didn't think we'd end up with this much...

...uppose I can always wrap some of it up and give it to the Welcome Center, and just keep some of it for ourselves, and--oh, bother, this was always much easier when I could count on Sam to finish off all the...

...umpkin, one whole apple, half of cherry, one and half again of custard. I wonder why the custard didn't go very well? It tasted all right to me...hmm. And then there's half a turkey still, and the cranberry sauce--and I still haven't looked at the ceiling, thank you--and bowls and things of the potatoes and dressing and goodness, all the cookies, and--oh, when did this turn on?

[A pause.]

Er...well, um, since this is already on, I suppose I might as well ask, really: if anyone would like some, er, leftover baked things from Gi--from Thanksgiving, please do let me know, won't you? Because really, I'd be more than happy to oblige.

[OOC: So Rosella likes big Thanksgiving dinners. Rosella also has an unfortunate tendency to bake up a storm when she's stressed out. Put the two together and what do you get? A veritable mountain of leftovers. >> Please take some. Please.

Maybe you've got an enchanted oven or something?

It's certainly a very nice one! Goodness knows I likely wouldn't be able to bake nearly so much if I had to do it the way we do at home. Which, er, might be some of the reason why I always end up making too much, come to think of it.

You and Todd weren't the ones who brought the cakepies, though, were you?

Todd and I aren't big bakers.

I don't think I even saw any cakepies. What is a cakepie?

Oh, it's the strangest thing! At first I thought they were little cakes, about the side of a muffin or so, but then I bit into one and there was pie filling inside! It's the most marvelous idea, really, and I can't imagine how someone managed it, but they did!

I only had some plain apple pie, and some of the pumpkin, nothing too unusual. I can't imagine how you'd think something like that up.

Only plain apple pie? You didn't even have any cinnamon and ice cream with it? My goodness, I'll have to send some over so you can eat it properly the next time, then!

You're only looking for excuses to get rid of it.

But, all right, we'll take some. I can make that sacrifice, to help out.

I'm making sure you and Todd are precisely as spoiled as you ought to be, thank you.

And you ought to be careful or I'll put in some of the cookies, too.

I will send you one of the little cakepies, though, just because you really ought to see one. They're just marvelous! There's one that's chocolate cake, I think, with cherry pie filling.

But did you have a nice time, you and Todd? I do hope so.

Well, I'll try nearly anything once.

Of course, we had a great time. We always do when we visit.

Good, I'm so glad. Things are a bit lonelier now than they used to be, with Sam and Penny and so many people gone...but it's still just as nice to spend time together with all of us who are left, isn't it? And I'm glad for that, too.

It's all the more important, I think.

I have a lot to be thankful for here, even if I wasn't cursed to go on about it yesterday, so I think... well, it's a good holiday to celebrate, especially with friends.

Oh, yes, there was that curse yesterday, wasn't there? It comes around at about this time every year, really, and I do rather like it. I wasn't cursed yesterday, either, but it's still one of the nicer ones to have, I think.

It's... well, not much of an interference, and certainly appropriate. I was grateful anyway. Just quietly.

Sometimes that's all the better, really. It's all well and good to be thankful, but so much the better when we don't need a curse to do it.

Maybe being cursed showed a few people what they do have, here. I hope so.

It's too bad all the pies won't keep until Christmas, or you'd be able to save yourself some work.

It is, a bit, but I honestly don't mind the work, really? Oh, things do always get a bit harried near the end, what with the running all around and the baking up a storm and whatnot, but I really do like doing it, all the mixing and measuring and rolling and things. It gives me something to occupy myself with when I need to think.

Then we'll just have to keep finding people to eat what you make, I suppose.

I don't think it'll be very hard, really. Most people seem to like the thought of free baked goods, and little wonder!

I almost think you ought to open a bakery of your own.

Do you think so? I don't know if I'd be very good at it, though. I do like the baking part of it, but I think I'd be a bit tempted to just give all of it away, rather than letting my customers pay for anything. It's not as though I really need the money, after all.

You could bake regularly for the Welcome Center then, I bet.

Or give things away at the Library? Well, maybe not; it'd make a mess of the books...
